BTS Member Suga Wore RM’s Cardigan From “Run” on His YouTube Broadcast

Eagle-eyed ARMYs have spotted a familiar cardigan during BTS member Suga’s most recent YouTube broadcast. And the small nod has us feeling nostalgic.

On May 6, just before dropping his collaboration with IU and basically breaking the internet, Suga (real Min Yoongi) took to YouTube (twice) to share a live painting session with ARMYs. As part of BTS’s new weekly YouTube vlogs, the rapper logged onto the platform to do another session on the (for now) abstract painting he had started back on April 24. But past his soothing strokes and murmured voice, ARMYs fixated on another small detail during Yoongi’s live: His outfit.

During the broadcast, the Daegu wordsmith appeared clad in a graphic white tee, black pants, one of his trusty grey beanies, and an artist’s apron that he ditched for the second half of the vlog. Topping it all off, however, was a cardigan that many recognized from that memorable car scene in the “Run” music video from late 2015.

The cardigan in question is from the Japanese high streetwear brand Wacko Maria. Though simple from the front, it features striking graphic motifs in the back (namely the phrase “there is always sunshine in my heart” and cartoon-like representation of the Lady of Guadalupe).

In the “Run” music video, it was leader RM who sported the piece. Given its recognizable design, it didn’t take long for fans to spot the piece on Yoongi’s live and they took to Twitter to share their excitement with the finding.

However, this isn’t the first time Yoongi has rocked this particular Wacko Maria cardigan. He was also seen wearing it back in 2017 in episode 33 of Run BTS! (aka. the “Manito” episode). Yoongi donned the cardigan for the entirety of the episode and also episode 34 but since he rarely turns around (given that, you know, he was busy jumping around and gifting Tae with merch of his own face), it’s easier to miss. One thing is sure though, he sure knows how to take good care of clothes!

Now, whether Yoongi’s cardigan is the same one RM sported in the video or he bought his own (like the Fear of God tees), that’s a secret only themselves and Big Hit stylists will know…
