Louis Vuitton Releases Additions to Its New Wave Collection

In 2015, Louis Vuitton discontinued its iconic Takashi Murakami multicolor monogram bag. Prior to its being pulled from shelves (note: it’s still available at most luxury consignment stores), it was a staple in the wardrobes of all the top early aughts celebs, such as Paris Hilton, Naomi Campbell, and Kim Kardashian.

This week, the brand announced it is bringing back a version of the classic style — but with a modern twist — by expanding its already-existing “New Wave Collection.”

The most nostalgic item of the collection is the white chain bag, which comes complete with a multicolor “Vuitton” written across the handle and a gold LV logo on the front. Other new items include a pink “Camera Bag” and a black fanny-pack-style “Bumbag.” Both feature a multicolor monogram “Vuitton” on the wrist strap.

Of course, when it comes to iconic bags in fashion, it’s all but guaranteed that we’re going to see them all over Instagram. When Dior’s saddlebag made its much-anticipated return, it was a staple in every influencer’s Fashion Week wardrobe. If I had a crystal ball, I’d take a guess that this new chain bag is going to have the same social media impact.
